Meet Krista…

As a product of public schools and the daughter of a former middle school teacher, it is an honor to have the opportunity to represent the public in this important role as a Trustee with the Newport-Mesa Unified School District. I was born and raised in Orange County and have been blessed to call Newport Beach my home for nearly 20 years. I have a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Southern California and currently serve as a National Account Manager for a Fortune 500 company. Most importantly, I am a mother to nine-year-old twins who are attending Mariners Elementary.

What I believe:

  • In the value of a quality public education.

  • Rigorous Academic Programs: By advocating for advanced curriculum, innovative teaching methods, and hands-on learning, we can prepare our students for the future.

  • Fiscal responsibility: I will continue working to hard to ensure your tax dollars are protected and our district is financially sound.

  • Communication: The school district needs to communicate and listen to all stakeholders before making decisions. I’m a firm believer that over-communicating is better than nothing at all.

  • Parental Involvement: As a parent, knowing what happens in the classroom is a fundamental right of every parent.

  • The value of a well-rounded student. Learning the most complicated subject does not mean anything if you cannot apply the concept to real life.

  • The importance of students' mental and emotional development. An education is only valuable when a student can emotionally handle the ups and downs of life.
